Angola’s Ministry of Mineral and Petroleum Resources announced that it will be launching an open and international public tender for the construction of a refinery in Soyo, in the north of the country.
The Institutional Communication and Press Office told Prensa Latina that the project will be an oil refinery with private capital.
Once it is executed, it will join the other two ongoing projects – that of Cabinda and Lobito. If all of these projects come to fruition, Angola will have a total of four refineries to better meet the needs of the country, which imports 80 percent of what it consumes.
The timeline for the tender launch and project presentation will be made available in the coming weeks.
